Emerging Technology (Research)

With human augmentation on the rise in the hype cycle for emerging technologies, 2016, it comes down to two paths. Disability compensation and capability augmentation. As these experiences become more intelligent and immersive, there can be a greater production of VisionCare's Implantable Telescope Technology. Focused on disability compensation, specifically, patients with End-Stage AMD, it enlarges images by 2.2 or 2.7 times their regular size given that it's in front of your eye. It allows the patients distinguish images that may have been difficult to see while reducing the 'blind spot.'
This telescope implant the size of a pea is currently in its third-generation. Can you imagine this in its fourth- or fifth-generation? Reason I decided to research this was because human augmentation is already happening. Hearing capacity is being restored and increased, human exoskeletons are being used to augment movement, sensory processing is being enhanced, etc. A lot of technologies are being created and improved to increase human productivity or capabilities.
